LUCÍA DALENZ LORIETO
Uruguayan-Bolivian visual artist. I’m a self-taught artist. My paintings are inspired in Contemporary, Fauvist and Latin American Indigenous art. I began painting at the age of 4 y-o, influenced by the family art legacy of Mario Lorieto, member of Taller Joaquin Torres Garcia, under the art movement of Constructive Universalism.
My interest for arts has accompanied me along my professional career in the fields of Communications and International Relations, at different countries & cultures.
Currently my paintings are part of private collections in the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Timor Leste, Mexico, Barbados, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Uruguay and Chile as well as part of the permanent art collection at the Organization of American States in Washington DC, USA.
Since art plays a vital role in imagining alternative scenarios to collective problems, an extent of my art is based on artivism (art for activism) mainly on gender and environmental issues.
